April in Paris! This gorgeous dress and jacket of mauve pink organdy has April in Paris written all over it. To top it off it has the Paris label of Jean Dargence stitched into the jacket. Though I've been looking through all of my reference material, I've not been able to find reference to Dargence, but the high quality and detailing of this dress leads me to believe that this may have been a custom maker or a lesser known couture house that, according to the label, was located at 22, Av. Montaigne - Ely-15-20.
The dress is strapless with a boned bodice and back zip closure. Treated with pleated organdy that matches the inset gores of the full skirt. The short sleeved jacket is fitted to the waist line and closes with three buttons, one fell off as it was being removed from the dress form and has a small chip on the edge where it hit the floor. It will need to be reattached. The neckline of the jacket is low, allowing a peek of the pleated organdy trimming the bodice. It has a stand up collar that frames the neckline and would draw the eye upward to the face. The overall condition is excellent with very minor soiling along the top edge of the bodice, otherwise no rips, holes or stains.
