1790s Printed Wool Shoes

This fabulous pair of early slippers dates circa 1790's.  They are made of mustard colored wool that has been printed with bisected circles in an alternating pattern.  Shoes such as this are rarely found on the open market today and it is always a pleasure to be able to offer them.  Lined in natural linen.

Condition is very good to excellent for the age and materials.  The silk binding around the throat line has worn and is just a remnant and there are a couple of early repairs to the fabric.  These are of the period and very minor (see photos six and seven).  The ties may have been moved or added to the shoes though they do appear to be of the period and are appropriate for the style of shoes.  Measuring 10.5" long and 3" wide across the ball of the foot.
