Art Deco Beaded Net Flapper Dinner Cloche Circa 1920s

An exceptional beaded flapper evening cloche of the 1920's is worked on a base of net with a partial gold lame lining. Cording of silk and metallic thread has been used to further accent the beading and fill areas that were not otherwise beaded. The effect is lovely and one wonders how a piece so delicate could have survived intact for so many years.

There is no noted loss to the bead work or cording, no breaks in the net. The only noted wear is to the lame lining which has worn slightly along the edges and had tarnished and worn, most especially along the back at the neckline. Still it is a rare icon of the 1920's art deco era and a must for the aspiring flapper wardrobe.

Inside circumference 22".
