This amazing late Victorian hat is a combination of a number of materials. The brim is woven of green straw and chenille while the crown is covered in ivory silk encased in metallic lace and heavy gold buillon appliques. As if that weren't enough, silk flowers and ribbons adorn the back and bottom of the brim with three lush ostrich tips arching across the crown from the left side. Lined in black polished cotton and green velvet there are no labels to indicate the maker.
Condition is excellent with no breaks to either the straw or the lace. All materials are original and intact. A fine and exuberant example of the era!
Measures 10" in diameter with an exterior circumference of 34".
