A classic! This boy's sailor suit dates to the late 1890s or very early 1900s. Though they were popular for young lads of the era, they are not easily found today. This example is tailored in gray pinstriped wool with olive green wool trim around the collar, cuffs, neckline and used for piping. The matching attached dickey has an embroidered motif with a shield and stars at the center. The attached tie is original though faded. The tunic closes in the front with hidden button placket while the pants close at each side with buttons. The tunic is fully lined in gray polished cotton.
Overall condition is very good though there are some small areas of mothing as seen on the collar and pant legs.
