This metallic silk brocade evening wrap dates between 1915 to 1919. It is an amazing piece as you can see. The color of the silk lamé is a gorgeuous and rich lavender pink woven with gold metallic thread and it is lined in a soft blue/green lamé. The collar is huge! Made of white fur, possibly ermine, and trimmed with black ostrich feathers. It can be worn open or buttoned closed with the two fur covered buttons and loops at the front opening. One hook and eye at the neckline and a self covered button and loop at the chest are the only other closures. Interlined with a heavy soft batting of flannel for warmth.
The overall condition is excellent with the only exception being a two inch period repair at the hemline on the right side as well as some tarnish/soiling in the same area. I nearly missed these as they are so inconspicuous. There is also some very slight wear to the inside edge of the collar, again, very difficult to find but it is there.
This amazing piece will be the center of any collection!
