From R. H. Stearns & Co., Boston, this canary yellow silk evening coat dates to circa 1925. This lightweight confection combines yellow silk charmeuse with a darker golden yellow lining of the same fabric which is glimpsed at the open front. The hemline is encased in matching yellow chiffon which also forms a stripe up the center back of the coat for added interest. Wispy two-tone feather panache's match the colors of the silk and are spaced vertically around the hemline. Closing asymmetrically with a single mother of pearl button and loop to the left. Label attached at back neckline.
The overall condition is good to very good. There is very light soiling on the shoulders and at cuffs as well as some shedding of the feathers. Even so, the rare color and style is quite desirable.
