Bathing Beach Girl Tobacco Silk Circa 1910

Representing Ormond Beach, this lovely bathing beauty is beautifully attired in a red bathing dress with belt and trim of black and white triangular pieces. She wears red stockings and white bathing shoes that lace up the ankles. Her hair is covered with a black and red wrap that is bowed at the front.

Produced circa 1910 by American Tobacco Company in the Bathing Beach Girls series, silks such as this were given as premiums in packages of cigarettes. The colorful bits of artwork were collected and used to make decorative pillow covers or incorporated into crazy quilts of the period.

In excellent condition this piece measures approximately 4.75" x 6.25". It is crisp and bright with expected fraying at the top and sides.
