Antique Chantilly Lace & Horsehair Wide Brim Flapper Cloche
This elegant 1920's wide brimmed ladies hat is made of horsehair crinoline with an overlay of black Chantilly lace. The deep fitted cloche style crown is encircled with a wide black satin ribbon band and is lined with a delicate layer of black tulle. The floppy brim is bound in black satin with light wiring providing soft shaping. Labeled by the upscale department store Gladdings of Providence, RI, where many fashionable flappers of the era shopped.
Overall condition is excellent with no rips or holes. There is light soiling around the inner black taffeta sweatband, otherwise perfect and supremely wearable.
Inside circumference is 21" with a crown depth of 7" and brim width from 2.75" at center back to 5" at the sides.
