20s Orientalist Inspired Art Deco Lace Dress

Influenced by Orientalism, this day dress dating to the early 1920s is made of black lace in an art deco pattern of stylized roses with larger medallions of roses interspersed. It is artfully draped in an asymmetrical fashion with three quarter length sleeves edged in soft green chiffon. The foundation of the dress is black silk crepe that is exposed in areas of the bodice where the elegant draping is attached. The belt is made up of double rows of moire grosgrain ribbon with thermoplastic "tiles" with a painted chinoiserie design on the face. It is stitched in place and closes with hooks and eyes as does the dress.

Overall condition is very good with a broken bride or two on the lace and some slight wear to the chiffon at the neckline as the only flaws to be found. These are easy to repair with a well placed stitch or two. A gorgeous and elegant dress in a very wearable size!
